DK Firewood was born out of frustration after years of having “seasoned” logs delivered to our own driveway—only to find the quality was poor and the wood clearly hadn’t been seasoned long enough. If you’ve ever struggled to light damp logs on a cold evening, you’ll know exactly how that feels.
That experience inspired us to do things differently.
DK Firewood is a small family-run business, owned and operated by Darren and Kayleigh. Built on strong family values, we take real pride in supplying quality firewood that we would be happy to use in our own home. Honesty, reliability and good service are at the heart of everything we do.
Over the years, our family business has grown. Alongside supplying firewood, Darren and Kayleigh also run DK Groundworks, specialising in agricultural concreting and groundworks. While the work may vary, the same principles remain at the core of both sides of the business — hard work, trust, and doing the job properly.
Wherever possible, our firewood is sourced from local woodlands. This helps us support responsible woodland management while keeping our business connected to the local community and countryside that we care about.

At DK Firewood, all of our firewood is Ready to Burn approved. This means our logs have been kiln Dried and tested to ensure they contain less than 20% moisture, which is the recommended level for clean and efficient burning.
This is important because wet or poorly seasoned wood doesn’t burn properly. It produces more smoke, creates less heat, and can cause a build-up of soot and tar inside your chimney or stove. Over time, this can reduce the efficiency of your fire and even increase the risk of chimney fires.
By choosing Ready to Burn approved firewood, you can be confident that the logs you receive are dry, high quality and ready to use straight away. They light more easily, burn hotter, produce more heat for your home, and create less smoke and pollution.
